was that all a dream?
yesterday was my last day doing my old job. the entire day seemed like a dream. okay, part of it could be the illness that i'm still fighting. as i was driving my husband to work in noe valley i was thinking "wow...last day driving through this annoying hood." at work I had two small things to finish, one was done by the time I got there - YAY! the other was labeling boxes soon off to storage - a five minute exercise.
wow...no more mollie stone's, long's or target on my lunch hour. no more overlooking the beautiful bayhill parking lot. no more watching the 4pm fog rolling over the ridge in the summer. no more sharing an office with some annoying person. no more watching them mow the roof of the building across the street.
instead i get to learn to hate muni. i get to care about fare increases. i get to work with a bunch of people i've never met. i get to see the beautiful bay bridge from just about underneath it. i get to go to palamino or gordon biersch for drinks instead of tgifridays. i get food options out the wazoo. i get to people-watch along the embarcadero. i get to have lunch with friends who work nearby. i get more exercise without even thinking about it. i get to learn how to layer appropriately. i get to see more hot people.
it all still seems like a dream, but a great dream. i'm ready for the change. i did my last job for 3.5 years. time to move on. i look forward to the new challenges, friendships and opportunities my new job will bring.
